Marching Band Memories

This weekend I went to my cousin’s Marching band performance at the Alamo Dome in down town San Antonio and it was a blast. Their High school has only been around for 2 years and they are doing great.

Of coarse this took me back to my days in marching band, In fact the band i was in was very competitive and one of our old rival bands is from san antonio and i got a chance to see them as well this weekend which was fun. Below is a video of the year we won national championships. I have a chime solo at 6:44 and 6:57. The theme was from the book 1984 and was alot of fun. Enjoy

The Week of Wierd

This was a great week. Work was as busy as ever putting in my usual 50hrs which at this time i strangely love. But there was a handfull of events and pictures that i collected this week that i feel need to be shared with the rest of the world.

1.

Below is a magic broom. Why magic you say? Steve (my roomate) claims that the planets are in a special alignment for the next few days or weeks allowing the broom to stand completely on its own. Im testing the theory. The boom has been upright by itself for over 38 hours now.

Duct Tape its a wonder full thing right? You can do anything with it! I found out my cousins love duct tape. Possible too much…. they ask for duct tape for christmas becuase they think it is that awesome! All i have to say it what they made from the duct tape is even BETTER!

Finally i went to a college pep rally for a college i have never attended, and for a basketball team i will most likely never go see. But it was fun. they had a marching band, cheer routines and slam dunk contest, the whole works. The cool thing was this video below of some guys “stomping the yard” that were great. I just didn’t know that people actually did this other that in the movie that made if famous. So enjoy

This weekend was a weekend to top weekends (not really but it was fun). Why so much fun you ask? Two words my friend DJ HERO! I looking around in BestBuy Saturday when stumbled across a new game that i could connect with. I patiently (yeah right) waited my turn for the person in front of me to finish before i was able to take the reins of this brand new DJ-inspired fully-interactive mind-blowing vinyl-scratching video game, and oh what fun it was. I scratched and i faded and i mixed it up on DJ Hero… and oh what a hero i was.

I was lucky enough to have Steve document this momentous occasion for me.

A little History:

For those not as familiar with my “Enchanting” past night life i was a DJ. For three years i went by the name of “DJ Scoutmaster” and to top it off i did wear a scoutmaster shirt while spinning fresh tracks . During these years i gained a deep seeded passion for Hip-Hop, Break-dancing and Beat-mixing. I became so famous i even got a facebook group deticated to me (click to see the group).

I worked with famous DJ’s including:

  • DJ Fresh2Def (Matt Hoffman)
  • DJ Case
  • DJ Tim Beck

During this time i produced my custom music mixes for people and at events including:

So you can image my joy when i found that there was now a video game released that allowed me to feel like a dj without actually have to pack sound and light equipment around. I can perform for millions in the comfort of my own home. The best part is that you don’t have to be an acuall DJ to buy DJ Hero so you too can experience what i did. Life doesn’t get much better than this. but as always…

New iphone – an introduction to the apple world

I have embarked on a journey down an instant information highway I fear I will never exit. I got an iPhone this week. I know this is a suprize to some but for those who are not as close me I will spell it out for you in a short story.

I’m a pc user. Alway have been and always thought I would be. At one time I owed 2 pc laptops, 2 custom built pc desktops and a zune! But in the last few years I have learned that apple products are not half bad, and an iPhone was the best replacement for my broken zune, broken palm phone and so much more.

Now, I love my phone/mp3 player and so much more. It is only fitting that this post be made (you guessed it) from my iPhone…

And So It Starts

Ive graduated College, Started a full time desk job at USAA in San Antonio and im currently in a serous relationship with a beautiful girl named Meghan.  Some say that this is the beginning of the end but i would like to think that it is more of the end of the beginning and the beginning of the rest of my life.

This picture truly embodies the level of sophistication that emanates from a real BYU-Idaho graduate. I am among and elite group of few and for this reason i am prepare to stand as a beacon it todays society.

Camping in Idaho

After graduation we all headed to a small town 45 mins away from Sun Valley when we spent the weekend camping and white water rafting with the Coopers (My moms family) and had a blast. John my uncle planned the whole trip and he did and exceptional job at it! It was a blast filled with white water and of coarse gourmet meals. I could not have asked for anything better as a graduation present.

This is a great star photography shot that i took at out campsite. I had the shutter on the camera open for over 20 mins so the starts appear to move as the earth spins. Those who dont know my sister Michelle (amazing photography) actually got me into photography. Im not professional like her but it is a hobby that i enjoy.

This is a great picture at a lake near our campsite where my girlfriend Meghan was able to sneak a fast one on me while Kerry took a great picture with a great background. This weekend in this beautiful part of Idaho was nothing short of spiritual i a got a chance to commune with nature.

My Apartment

Here it is folks my first apartment away from college. I Started work at USAA in San Anotonio on Aug 9th and have now entered the world of while collars.

My New Car

New Job, New Apartment why not a new car. Its a 2010 Mazda Speed3. a zippy turbocharged 263hp hatchback. It will get you from 0-60 in 5 seconds and chew up windy roads and spit them out straight and keeps grinning. But best of all it can fit 5 full grown adults or 2 adults and 2 kids seat ;) so you bet i plan on this car being in my life for a while.

I will not make you yawn with the details of one of the loves in my life but its a fun car. For those who know me really well know that this was a good choice for a car to hold on to for a while. It make seem like too much of a toy but with 20mpg around town and 30+ on the highway and room for family in the future i feel like i made a great choice. Who says you cant mix business with pleasure?
